Roasted in Temecula, California
Coffee worth slowing down for.
We are a small roastery run on two convictions: that Christ is worth our best work, and that coffee should be roasted to order — in batches small enough to taste before they leave the building.
Who we are
A roastery, not a factory.
Good coffee is not complicated. It is green beans chosen carefully, roasted attentively, and shipped before they have a chance to go dull.
We started because the coffee on grocery shelves had usually been sitting for months. Roast dates were nowhere to be found, origins were vague, and the flavour had long since flattened out. So we bought a drum roaster, learned to read a trier, and started roasting for neighbours a few pounds at a time.
That has not changed much, only the size of the room. Orders are still roasted after you place them, still cooled and bagged by hand, and still leave within 48 hours. Whole bean by default, ground to your brewer if you ask — because the grind is the fastest way to lose everything we just built.
None of it is really about coffee, though. We roast because careful work is one of the ways we love God and the people who drink what we make. Colossians 3:23 is painted on the wall above the roaster, and it settles the small decisions — including the expensive ones, like pouring out a batch that came out wrong.

Why we roast
Everything here begins with Christ.
Our name is not decoration. La Café Biblia means the cup and the Book kept in the same hand — the two things that start our mornings and, honestly, the two reasons this business exists at all. We are followers of Jesus first, roasters second, and we would rather say that plainly here than hint at it on a label.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
We think coffee is a small, ordinary picture of grace: something bitter and unpromising, put through fire, and made into a gift you hand to someone else. That is not a marketing angle. It is genuinely how we think about the work between six and eleven in the morning, when the roaster is running and the shop is quiet.
So we try to run the place the way we believe we have been dealt with — honestly about what is in the bag, patiently with people who are unhappy, generously with what is left over. We fall short of it often. But it is the standard we have set, and we would rather you hold us to it than never hear us name it.
A verse on every bag
Chosen for the roast, not stamped on at random. Some customers tell us it is the part of the order they read first.
Prayed over before it ships
Every name on the packing list gets prayed for by the person bagging it. You will never know it happened, and that is rather the point.
Giving where we are planted
A share of every order goes back through our local church and to the growing communities our green coffee comes from.
Sourcing
We buy beans we can name.
Every lot we buy is specialty grade and traceable — Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia for the bright, structured coffees in our espresso blends; Central and South America for the cocoa and caramel backbone in our everyday roasts.
-
Single origin first
Even our flavoured coffees start as specialty single origin, never as filler.
-
All-natural flavouring
Applied by hand after the roast. Gluten free, sugar free, no added calories.
-
Cupped before it ships
Each new lot is tasted on the table and profiled before it earns a label.
The roast
Small batches, watched by eye.
Nothing here runs on a timer alone. Every batch is judged by colour, smell and the crack of the beans, then dropped the moment it hits the profile we want — and no later.

01
You order
Your bag does not exist yet. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer.
-
02
We roast
Twelve pounds at a time, on a drum roaster, with a trier pulled every thirty seconds near the end.
-
03
It ships
Cooled, hand-bagged with a one-way valve and out the door within 48 hours of the roast.
What we hold to
Four promises on every bag.
We make them to you, but we keep them before God — which is why they do not quietly bend when a week gets busy.
Roasted to order
No stock sitting on a shelf. Your coffee is roasted after you buy it.
Specialty grade only
Traceable arabica lots, graded and cupped before we commit to them.
Ground for your brewer
Whole bean by default, or ground for drip, press, espresso and cold brew.
Drink it or tell us
If a bag is not right, write to us and we will make it right.

Your first bag
Taste the difference a roast date makes.
Pick a blend, choose your grind, and we will roast it this week. Most orders arrive while the beans are still degassing.
